turns ratio. Energy stored in the core is then delivered to the load via the secondary winding.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3 class=\"\" data-start=\"2183\" data-end=\"2203\">Conduction Modes<\/h3>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2205\" data-end=\"2242\">Flyback converters operate in either:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"2205\" data-end=\"2242\"><strong data-start=\"2246\" data-end=\"2282\">Continuous Conduction Mode (CCM)<\/strong>:<br data-start=\"2283\" data-end=\"2286\" \/>Energy is still flowing to the secondary when the next cycle begins. The selected transformer must have sufficient I<sub>pk<\/sub> or saturation current (I<sub>sat<\/sub>) margin above this level.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2998\" data-end=\"3202\">If the core saturates, the effective inductance drops sharply, reducing energy storage capacity and potentially causing regulation loss.
